BrewPrint: Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 8, 2026

© 2026 BrewPrint. All rights reserved.

For EU/EEA and UK residents, BrewPrint is the data controller. For Québec residents, BrewPrint is the entity responsible for the protection of personal information. All processing of personal data takes place locally on your device only, as explained below. BrewPrint does not receive, store, or transmit your personal data.

The short version: BrewPrint collects nothing about you. It runs entirely on your device. There are no accounts, no servers, no cloud, no ads, and no analytics, and your data is never sent to us or any server (with one narrow exception: App Store purchases, which Apple handles). The details are below.

What we collect

Nothing. We do not collect, receive, store, sell, or share any personal information. We have no servers and no account system, so there is nowhere for your data to go.

What's stored on your device (and only your device)

BrewPrint saves the things you enter so the app works, using Apple's on-device storage:

This information stays on your device. We cannot see it. We never receive a copy.

About device backups. Because this data lives in normal app storage, your own device backup may include it (for example iCloud Backup or an encrypted computer backup, if you have those turned on). That backup is yours, created by you through Apple or your computer, and is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy, not by us. We never access your backups and still receive nothing. You are solely responsible for whether and how you back up your data, and BrewPrint cannot restore data that is not in a backup you control. You can exclude BrewPrint from iCloud Backup in iOS Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Manage Account Storage → Backups.

What we do not do

BrewPrint does not:

BrewPrint uses Apple's standard on-device system logging (OSLog) for basic debugging. Those logs stay on your device and are not sent to us. Apple may include system logs in its own crash diagnostics under Apple's privacy policy.

App Store privacy label

Consistent with the above, BrewPrint's App Store privacy label is "Data Not Collected," and the app's privacy manifest declares no tracking and no collected data types.

App Store purchases (the one exception)

To unlock the app, BrewPrint uses Apple's in-app purchase system (StoreKit). When you buy or restore a purchase, Apple processes the payment and the transaction. That happens between you and Apple under Apple's terms and privacy policy (we never see your payment details or personal information). We only receive Apple's standard, aggregated sales reporting, which does not identify you. After a verified purchase, BrewPrint stores a small local flag so it stays unlocked.

Notifications

If you enable reminders, BrewPrint schedules local notifications on your device (for example a morning prompt, a caffeine cutoff, or a medication reminder you set). There is no push server (the content and timing stay on your device).

Medication logging

The optional medication log is for your own reference only. You acknowledge and agree that enabling this feature is your own choice and that you are solely responsible for how you use, interpret, and act on your own log entries. BrewPrint is not a medical service, not medical advice, and not a medical device. It gives no recommendations, diagnosis, treatment, or dosing guidance, and you must not rely on it for any health or medication decision. This data, like everything else, stays on your device. See the Medical Disclaimer.

Deleting your data

Because everything is local, you are always in control:

We cannot delete data for you, because we never had it. You are solely responsible for your own backups and for any data loss that results from resetting the app, deleting it, or losing your device.

Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, port, or restrict the use of personal information, or to object to its processing. Because BrewPrint keeps everything on your device, you can exercise these directly: edit entries in the app, or use Reset All Data in Settings to erase everything. There is nothing held by us to request.

For EU/EEA and UK users: any data you enter is processed locally to provide the features you ask for (legal basis: performance of a contract). Medication log entries may constitute special-category health data under GDPR Article 9. BrewPrint processes these entries locally on your device only, with no transmission to any server, and only because you explicitly chose to turn that feature on. The legal basis for this processing is your explicit consent under GDPR Article 9(2)(a). You can withdraw this consent at any time by deleting that data in the app. We carry out no profiling and make no automated decisions about you.

For California residents: we do not sell or share your personal information (including any "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising under the CPRA), and we do not use it for targeted advertising (there is nothing to sell, because we collect nothing).

If you have a question we can actually help with, contact support@brewprint.app and we will respond within the time your law requires (for example, 30 days under GDPR/UK GDPR, 45 days under CCPA/CPRA).

Children's privacy

BrewPrint is rated 9+ on the App Store and is a general-audience caffeine tracker, not directed at young children. It collects no data from anyone (there are no accounts, servers, ads, analytics, or tracking), so it does not knowingly collect personal information from children or anyone else, and there is no "digital age of consent" question because there is no data to consent to. If a minor has used the app, a parent or the user can erase everything with Reset All Data in Settings; because nothing is ever transmitted, no data about them exists off the device.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy if the app changes. If a future version ever adds anything that collects or transmits data (accounts, sync, analytics, crash reporting, or third-party integrations) we will update this policy and the App Store privacy label before that feature ships. Material changes will be shown by a new "last updated" date.
